Mother’s day

Today is Mother’s day and it is so great to stop and think about what a gift it is to be able to be a mum. And it truly IS a gift that so many take for granted and treat casually and so many others yearn for as a dream come true.

I am so happy there is a special day when we honour mothers… they do so much that is left unnoticed and unappreciated.

This week I have been asking myself – do I want my life and myself to be better or more comfortable?!

Life with a small child is definitely not comfortable – you need to break your ego, get over laziness, train patience, put down your ambition, get out of your comfort zone, put someone else’s needs over your own… but goodness, it all makes us get so much better! My character has changed so much over the past few years.

Not being able to sleep until lunchtime on a Saturday anymore could seem like such a flaw, however, it is unbelievable how much I can achieve when a little boy wakes me up before eight on a weekend.

In the choice between better or more comfortable, BETTER always wins for me! I have so much more to learn and I want to getter in so many ways… it is so good I have a little boy who motivates me and often doesn’t let me stop (literally).

We know that children learn from what we do not from what we say to them… this idea motivates me more than anything.

Mums, you are the best! I hope we all just keep getting BETTER!
