Sigulda is the place I grew up in and it is still my favorite place. I like living in Rīga, but Sigulda has my heart and Iove going there every now and then. I wanted to tell you about a shop that opened at the start of Spring. The shop is called “Visi var” (everyone can). You will find very different things here – second-hand clothing, shoes, and homeware items, cleaning supplies from Germany (which by the way are really good and affordable) and most importantly the shop sells things that are made by people with disability.
Social enterprise “Visi var” is created by society “Cerību spārni” (wings of hope) and all profits from the things sold in this shop will be invested in new charity projects for development of employment measures for people with disability or those who find it difficult to work a full-time job (single mums, elderly etc.)
The name “Visi var” truly comes with the meaning that EVERYONE CAN – everyone has talents and ability to do something – the ability to work, to be useful/valued and also receive a reward for their work.
The shop also has a cozy corner, where you can purchase coffee. It has some toys and coloring for children, which Noa took full use of, comfy sofas and WiFi.
If you are ever in Sigulda, if you need to get a present for someone or you just need to purchase some of the things available in the shop, I recommend that you visit this place and it is possible that you will find what you are looking for here. It is so great when we can combine good things – purchasing the things you need and help someone else.
Anyone can donate clothing, shoes or homeware items in good condition to support the social enterprise and its projects.
